Valdobbiadene
City of Wine and undisputed capital, alongside Conegliano, of Prosecco Superiore. It is located on the Treviso loop of the river Piave from which it takes its name (Val de du plavis - Piave valley or of the two Piave). Its secluded geographical position at the foot of the Cesen determines its healthy climate and beautiful landscape.
Its vast territory embraces three natural environments of superb beauty: the fluvial belt of the Piave, the hilly expanse of settlements and vineyards, and the mountain portion with its pastures and malghe surrounded by beech forests. Its cathedral preserves works of great value by Palma il Giovane, Paris Bordon, C. Ridolfi, Becaruzzi, A. Vittoria, T. Licini and Rosa Bortolan, among others. The bell tower in the square is the work of Francesco Maria Preti and features a valuable sundial designed by Giovanni Follador, a distinguished mathematician from San Stefano.
